Your Free Financial Assessment

A 3-step process to help you evaluate our services and make an informed decision about working together.

Step # 1 – Schedule a 15-minute Call

This will give us both a chance to make sure your financial situation matches our expertise.

If it does, and you would like to move forward, we’ll schedule a discovery meeting for the following week.

Step #2 – Discovery Meeting

The next step is a 30 minute meeting (in person or virtual) where we’ll discuss your goals, priorities, and concerns.

Afterwards, we’ll ask for some preliminary financial information and schedule another meeting for the following week.

Step #3 – Your Free Financial Assessment

During this final meeting we’ll provide a one-page plan explaining exactly what you can do to improve your financial standing and optimize your investments.

Afterwards, if you decide to hire Navwell Advisors, great! We’ll start the digital onboarding process and schedule your first planning meeting.

Still Have Questions? Read On…

Do you work with clients outside of New York?

Yes!  Our systems and processes are designed so we can work with clients from anywhere in the U.S.

I’m local, will we meet in person or via videoconference?

Your choice!  We’d love to meet in our Garden City office but if you’re busy with work and the kids, we can host a Zoom call.  Accommodating families with hectic schedules plays into our strengths.

What is a fee-only financial planner?

Fee-only financial planners are registered investment advisors with a fiduciary responsibility to act in their client’s best interest.  Fee-only advisors do not accept commissions, or any sales-related compensation.  They have fewer inherent conflicts of interest and generally provide more comprehensive planning.

How does Navwell Advisors make money?

We are a commission-free (a.k.a. fee-only) financial planning firm.  Our clients pay us in one of two ways: either as a percentage of the assets we manage for them or as a flat annual fee.  That’s it.

How are you different from other financial advisors?

There are three really important things about Navwell Advisors that separates us from others:

  1. We specialize in serving busy, working parents as they navigate the financial complexities of their 30s, 40s, and 50s. We help make the most out of today while not losing sight of the future.
  2. We’re built with you in mind. Everything from our business structure to the software we use, to our fee structure, our planning process and our investment philosophy have been purposefully combined to create a financial planning and investment management platform that is ideally suited for families like yours.
  3. We sit on your side of the table and deliver value where you need it most. As an independent, fee-only fiduciary we work for you.  Not an insurance company.  Not a brokerage firm.  Your goals, priorities, and concerns drive our process.  We spend time where it’s of most value to you, not us.

What can I expect in Year 1?

In year 1, we typically meet with clients 7-8 times.  The first 3 meetings happen in quick succession – usually within 2 months of onboarding.  These meetings are geared towards getting organized and understanding your goals, priorities, and concerns.

The next 5 meetings are typically every 6-8 weeks.  These meetings are planning and implementation focused.  We’ll go through each of the core financial planning areas, optimize your income and assets, and ensure all the moving pieces are working together to propel you towards your goals.

Between meetings, we’ll be in regular communication as we work down the to-do list.

How would I know if Navwell Advisors is the right fit for me?

We do our best work with families that are ready for a comprehensive plan.  Typically, our clients are working parents, between 35-55 years old, that have a household income of $200k+ per year.   Our clients value professional guidance and they’re excited to embark on a process to improve their financial outlook.

How would I know if Navwell Advisors is not the right fit for me?

Our intention is to help our clients achieve their financial goals.  To do this, we use a consistent investment and planning philosophy that may not be a perfect fit for everyone.  We’re not the right choice if you are seeking an advisor to:

  • Pick stocks or day trade in an attempt to “beat the market.”
  • Speculate on the market and interest rates and where they will go in the next few months.
  • Make short-term investment decisions based on the headline of the day.
